Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D) – $3213/wk

Schedule Options: 36 or 48 hours per week

Staffing Ratio: 1:1-3

Certifications Required:

  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Skills Required:

  • Circulate
  • Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
  • IV Start

Specific Skills/Qualifications Needed:

  • Must have a valid WA or Compact License
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
  • Ability to float to Postpartum (PP) and Newborn care as needed
  • Religious/Medical Covid Vaccine Exemptions Allowed

Job Description: The Labor and Delivery Nurse is responsible for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D setting. This role involves working with mothers during the final stages of pregnancy, assisting with birthing, monitoring vital signs, and identifying signs and symptoms of potential complications. The nurse will also be involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of mothers post-delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently with supervision.
  • Provide patient care according to nursing standards.
  • Coordinate patient care and assist others in managing patient care.
  • Monitor and support mothers during labor and delivery.
  • Educate patients and families on post-delivery care.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
  • One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
