Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a professional practitioner, the PCU RN assumes responsibility and accountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. This role involves making effective clinical judgments, employing critical thinking, and coordinating patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients.
  • Make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently with supervision.
  • Employ critical thinking and performance ability in coordinating patient care.
  • Consistently perform according to nursing standards.
  • Manage patient care and assist others in the management of patient care.

Compensation:

  • $2911 per week

Shift Information:

  • 13-week contract
  • Night Shift: 3×12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
  • Unit Details:
    • 25-bed Medical Unit with Internal Medicine Physicians and Residents.
    • Specializes in the care of acutely and chronically ill adults with complex medical diagnoses.
    • Current nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (goal is 1:4).
    • All travelers are expected to float as needed to other PCU units and potentially Med Surg.
    • EPIC experience required.

Certifications Required:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.
  • One year prior professional nursing experience preferred, with one year progressive care unit experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
  • Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
