School Counselor 2025-26 School Year

The Amergis Educational Services Team is currently seeking Certified School Counselors for schools within the Sarasota County area for the Full 2025-26 School Year.

Position Details: 

Pay: $48 per hour, up to $2158 per week (based on location)

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Start Date: August 2025

Length of Contract: 2025-26 school year (high possibility of extension into the following school year and option to go internal directly with school)

Requirements: FLDOE School Counselor credentials or Statement of Eligibility for license

The School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker provides counseling to students in need of counseling and/or support with their mental health needs.    

Minimum Requirements: 

• Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirement 
• The Counselor may be required to have an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Psychology, Addictions, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or some other Human Development major  per state, contract and/or facility guidelines. 
• Current CPR if applicable 
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
• Must be at least 18 years of age
