Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | School-Based | Huntington Beach, CA | Full-Time | 4-Month Contract | $45–$50/hr
Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The COTA will deliver treatment, implement therapy plans, collect standardized assessment data, and document services for students in the school setting. This role supports elementary and middle school students across multiple classroom types, including mainstream, special day classes, and general education.
Position Overview

Location: Huntington Beach, CA

Start Date: December 1, 2025

Duration: 3–4 months with possible extension

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Hours per Week: 32–35 hours

Openings: 1 position available

Pay Rate: $45–$50 per hour local
Responsibilities

Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
-
Implement individualized therapy plans and interventions
-
Collect and report standardized assessment data

Document therapy sessions and student progress in compliance with professional standards

Support students in elementary and middle school settings across multiple classroom types
Requirements
-
Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in California
-
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
-
One year of experience as a COTA preferred
-
Pediatric and school-based experience preferred
-
Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
-
Current CPR certification, if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable
-
Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
