Special Education Teacher (SPED) | Eugene, OR | $55–$60/hr | 7-Month Contract

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. The SPED Teacher will deliver instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff to support student success.

Position Overview

  • Location: Eugene, OR

  • Start Date: December 1, 2025 (ASAP)

  • Duration: 7 months, through end of school year

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8.5-hour days (8 hours paid + 30-minute unpaid lunch)

  • Hours per Week: 40 paid hours

  • Openings: 1 position available

  • Pay Rate: $55–$60/hr (based on experience and availability)

Caseload Details

  • Approximately 25 students split between elementary and middle school resource classrooms

  • Classroom sizes typically 10–15 students each

  • Students present with a range of disabilities including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), behavioral/self-regulation challenges, and learning disabilities

  • Split-site assignment requires effective communication with administrators and staff at both locations

  • Planning/IEP meetings typically scheduled in the mornings (7:15–8:45 a.m.)

  • One of the lowest caseloads in the area, offering manageable workload with strong support

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to special education students (elementary and middle school)

  • Manage caseload of up to 25 students across two sites

  • Create, implement, and attend IEP meetings

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure student success

  • Document services and maintain compliance with professional standards

Requirements

  • Active Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsement

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Previous experience in resource classrooms a plus

  • Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred

  • Strong communication skills with staff, students, and parents

  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Current CPR, TB screening, and health certificate (if applicable)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
