Position Overview

Under the direction of the Special Education ProgramAdministrator, the Special Education Teacher provides qualityeducational services to students with special needs across grades K–12. Thisrole requires collaboration with general education staff and activeparticipation in planning and implementing individualized student programs,including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals.
• Participate in team planning and implementation of student programs.
• Provide consultation and support to general education staff.
• Maintain compliance with state and district regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations.
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred).
• State Teacher Certification:
• Standard Elementary Teaching (preferred)
• Standard Secondary Teaching (preferred)
• Standard Special Teaching (preferred)
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR certification (if applicable).
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
• Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
