About the Role:

Provide individualand group counseling to students facing emotional, behavioral, or socialchallenges. This role supports students in developing coping strategies,improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall mental well-being. Thecounselor will collaborate with families, teachers, and school staff to fostera safe and supportive learning environment, facilitate referrals tocommunity-based mental health services, and contribute to school-wide mentalhealth initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling services to students individually and in groups
  • Support emotional and behavioral development through evidence-based strategies
  • Collaborate with school teams and families to address student needs
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to mental health programming
  • Refer students to external mental health resources when appropriate
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and work independently within the Student Services suite

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling (required)
  • Licensure/certification per state, facility, or contract guidelines
  • Experience working in school settings or with adolescents/families preferred
  • Complies with all professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
