The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility andaccountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery ofpatient care in the L&D Setting. TheLabor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments inan effective and efficient manner with supervision.
The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during thefinal stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vitalsigns, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possiblecomplications. The labor and deliverynurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs ofMothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performanceability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountablein managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patientcare.
Nights, 3×12 hr shifts, 36 hrs/week – may float across all campuses to Maternity/L&D units
Required to work 2 of 3 Christmas New Years or Thanksgiving Limit of 1 day request off between 11/26/25-11/30/25 and 12/23/25-1/2/26 for all travelers regardless of holidays worked. Unit Info: Bed Size: 45 bed 2 OR Patient Ratios: 1:1-2 Patient Types: High Risk ob antepartum c-sections vaginal deliveries Drips: magnesium insulin pitocin Scrubs: hospital provided Traveler will be required to float across all campuses
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.
- One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience withinthe last three years preferred.
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
