Job Title: Medical Assistant – Telehealth Support

Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant – Telehealth Support is a vital member of the virtual care team, responsible for facilitating seamless patient interactions and supporting healthcare providers through both administrative and clinical tasks. This role emphasizes effective communication, care coordination, and operational efficiency to ensure a positive patient experience and high-quality outcomes in a telehealth setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Coordination & Communication

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, consultations, and follow-ups.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring timely responses to inquiries and concerns.
  • Support onboarding and orientation calls for new patients.
  • Route patient messages and calls to appropriate team members.

Clinical & Administrative Support

  • Maintain and update patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and follow-up communications.
  • Monitor patient updates and report relevant changes to the clinical team.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and potential side effects.

Compliance & Quality Improvement

  • Ensure all patient interactions comply with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and workflow optimization within the telehealth platform.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or current certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or telehealth setting (preferred).
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Familiarity with prior authorization processes and basic medication management.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced virtual environment.
  • Knowledge of dosing calculations.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive approach to patient care.
