Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Pasadena Unified School District
Type: School-Based | Full-Time

What You’ll Do:

As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome speech, language, and communication challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication needs of students.
  • Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other school staff.
  • Providing direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, tailored to their unique goals and needs.
  • Monitoring student progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Documenting all services provided in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Educating and supporting school staff and families on communication disorders and strategies for classroom success.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations, licensure requirements, and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of California
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred (may be required by contract)
  • School-based experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy techniques and current best practices
  • Current CPR certification, if applicable
  • TB screening (PPD or chest x-ray), if applicable
  • Current health certificate, per contract or state regulation
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
