Special Education Teacher

Position Title: Special Education Teacher

Overview:
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers high-quality educational services to students in grades K–12 with special needs. This role emphasizes collaborative planning and implementation of individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutoring, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in self-contained and adaptive classroom settings (no inclusion).
• Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement IEPs.
• Support students through individualized and small-group instruction.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by district or contract regulations.
• At least one year of teaching experience (preferred).
• Preferred certifications:
  • Standard Elementary Teaching
  • Standard Secondary Teaching
  • Standard Special Teaching
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
