The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting isresponsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing anddocumenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed foreach individual student and the physician’s orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

K-12 Speech Language Pathologist with David Douglas School District
Technical Skills Needed/Minimum Experience/Qualifications
– Preferred 1 year of experience
Start Date:
– Nov 2025 through end of March 2026
Location:
David Douglas School District – Floating to multiple buildings during the week and working K-12
Length of Contract:
6 Months
Hours/Week (Paid/Unpaid Lunch):
Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Position Details (Age group, Caseload, Duties):
- Assist and guide teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
- Advocate, model and implement David Douglas School District Educational Racial Equity policy.
- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students, staff and families/caregivers from diverse background.
- Make necessary speech and language evaluations and hearing screenings as requested by teachers, principals, or families.
- Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments.
- Assist in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community, as appropriate.
- Provide appropriate individualized treatment programs to meet students’ existing communication needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members.
