Life Skills Special Education Teacher | $45/hr | Waco, TX | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support a Life Skills classroom in Waco, TX. This full-time, in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 23, 2026. The position serves a caseload of 10 students with support from two instructional aides.

Duration: 36 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM (tentative)
Hours: 37.5/week
Pay Rate: $45/hr
Modality: In-person
Caseload: 10 students
Support Staff: 2 instructional aides
Interview Format: Virtual

Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction and support for students in a Life Skills classroom
Collaborate with general education staff to implement individualized programs
Manage IEPs, student progress, and classroom compliance
Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment tailored to student needs

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid Texas teaching certificate (SPED endorsement preferred)
Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
