Special Education Teacher | $40–$42/hr | Carlsbad, NM | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support middle and high school students in Carlsbad, NM. This in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, with a mixed caseload and classroom support provided.

Position Details

Location: Carlsbad, NM
Start Date: ASAP (Estimated: November 17, 2025)
End Date: May 21, 2026
Duration: 23 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~7:45 AM–3:30 PM
Hours: 37.5/week
Pay Rate: $40–$42/hr
Modality: In-person only
Caseload: Middle and High School, mixed caseload
Support Staff: Paras, BTs, Nurses (details in interview)
Interview Format: In-person or virtual

Responsibilities

Provide instruction and case management for students with disabilities
Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel
Implement behavior de-escalation strategies
Participate in testing coordination with LSSPs, Diagnosticians, and SLPs
Maintain compliance with district and state regulations

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid state teaching certificate (SPED endorsement preferred)
Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
