Special Education Teacher | $40–$42/hr | Carlsbad, NM | 2025–2026 School Year

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support middle and high school students in Carlsbad, NM. This in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, with a mixed caseload and classroom support provided.

Position Details

• Location: Carlsbad, NM

• Start Date: ASAP (Estimated: November 17, 2025)

• End Date: May 21, 2026

• Duration: 23 weeks

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~7:45 AM–3:30 PM

• Hours: 37.5/week

• Pay Rate: $40–$42/hr

• Modality: In-person only

• Caseload: Middle and High School, mixed caseload

• Support Staff: Paras, BTs, Nurses (details in interview)

• Interview Format: In-person or virtual

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and case management for students with disabilities

• Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel

• Implement behavior de-escalation strategies

• Participate in testing coordination with LSSPs, Diagnosticians, and SLPs

• Maintain compliance with district and state regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid state teaching certificate (SPED endorsement preferred)

• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB/PPD clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
