Job Title: Special Education Teacher (K–12)
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Duration: 39 Weeks
Work Hours: 35 hours/week

Position Overview:

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs from kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a strong commitment to collaborative planning and implementation of individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certificate (as required by state/district).
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred).
  • State Teacher Certification (preferred types):
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
  • Compliance with professional standards of practice.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable).
  • Current health certificate (per contract/state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Notes:

  • Licensed candidates are highly preferred.
  • Non-licensed candidates must be willing to obtain a provisional license and enroll in a certification program. We will reimburse 50% of the total cost of the program.
  • Please review both licensed and non-licensed pay rates when applying.
