Location – Pikeville, KY
Responsibilities: Assesses/reassesses infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process as appropriate to: • Care of patients in emergent and/or non-emergent situations • Airway Management • Pain Management • Cardiac Monitoring • Invasive Monitoring • Specialized IV Drips/titration • Sedation • Assist with specialized procedures, i.e., Temp Pacemakers, Cardioversion, Defibrillation, chest tubes, care of fractures, assist with wound repair, etc. • Use specialized equipment in the care of emergency patients • Manages Code Blue in the Elliott building • Troubleshooting • COBRA/ EMTALA • IV Therapy • Infusion Therapy • Medication Administration • ECG Strip Analysis and Interpretation • “Time Out” • Discharge follow-up education care • Traumas’ • Information Management
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse assumesresponsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing processand the delivery of patient care in the emergency room setting or other emergentcritical care areas.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse License within the state ofpractice
- Minimum of one year emergency room experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
