Amergis Educational Staffing is currently seeking School-Based Speech-Language Pathologists for the 2025-2026 school year!
The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed for each individual student and the physician’s orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Responsibilities and Duties:

Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Diagnose speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language impairments.

Intervention and Treatment:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders.
- Provide direct therapy to students, using evidence-based practices to address specific speech and language goals.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students’ communication needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop comprehensive educational plans.
- Provide training and resources to teachers and parents to support speech and language development in the classroom and at home.

Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education and speech-language services.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for Medicaid billing and other funding sources.

Prevention and Advocacy:
- Implement programs to prevent speech and language disorders, such as early intervention initiatives.
- Advocate for students with speech and language needs, ensuring they receive appropriate services and support.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.

- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology.
