About the Role
We’re hiring a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with high-incidence disabilities in a dynamic school setting. You’ll collaborate with Paras, Behavior Technicians (BTs), and therapy staff to implement behavior plans and foster student success.
Key Responsibilities
? Instruction & Support
- Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted instruction tailored to student goals
- Implement behavior plans in collaboration with support staff
? Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Paras, BTs, and therapy professionals
- Communicate regularly with families and staff
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
? Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records and meet all Special Education compliance standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and evaluations
- Ensure adherence to district, state, and federal guidelines
Minimum Requirements
? Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
? Valid Kansas State Teaching Certificate
? Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
? Certification Types (preferred):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
? Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
? Current CPR certification (if applicable)
? TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
? Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)
? Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
? Must be at least 18 years of age
