?? High Incidence SPED Teacher – Elementary or Middle School

?? Location: Shawnee Mission, KS
?? Pay: $60/hour
?? Contract: Through the end of the school year
?? Setting: Elementary or Middle School

About the Role

We’re hiring a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with high-incidence disabilities in a dynamic school setting. You’ll collaborate with Paras, Behavior Technicians (BTs), and therapy staff to implement behavior plans and foster student success.

Key Responsibilities

? Instruction & Support

  • Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver targeted instruction tailored to student goals
  • Implement behavior plans in collaboration with support staff

? Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Paras, BTs, and therapy professionals
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed

? Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records and meet all Special Education compliance standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings and evaluations
  • Ensure adherence to district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements

? Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
? Valid Kansas State Teaching Certificate
? Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
? Certification Types (preferred):

  • Standard Elementary Teaching
  • Standard Secondary Teaching
  • Standard Special Teaching
    ? Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
    ? Current CPR certification (if applicable)
    ? TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
    ? Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)
    ? Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
    ? Must be at least 18 years of age
