Special Education Teacher (Part-Time Resource)

Location: Peoria, AZ
Schedule: Part-Time | Hours per Week: 20
Contract Duration: 2025–2026 School Year
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Pay Rate: $50/hr

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs in grades K–12. This role requires collaboration with general education staff to plan and implement individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments.
  • Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
  • Certification:
    • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations.
    • Preferred endorsements:
      • Standard Elementary Teaching
      • Standard Secondary Teaching
      • Standard Special Teaching
      • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a teaching environment (preferred).
  • Compliance with all professional standards and state/federal requirements.
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Modality: Part-Time Resource SPED Teacher
  • Grade Levels: Kindergarten through Grade 12
