The Mammography Technologist performs a variety of technicalactivities associated with the performance of screening and diagnosticmammography procedures. The MammographyTechnologist uses specialized X-ray equipment to take images of the breasttissue and work with radiologists to interpret the results. The Mammography Technologist helps detectbreast cancers early to improve the chances of successful treatment andsurvival.
Job Duties:
Information Processing & Image Review
- Manages electronic data, processes information (subtraction or other digital manipulation) for interpretation, reviews exam for proper positioning, technique, identification, and records required information
- Transfer images to PACS and verifies the action. Reviews the case, patient medical history, protocol, and prior images, using clinical judgement to ensure a successful outcome
Instruction
- Instructs radiology students and/or new staff according to clinical and department requirements; assists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel with emphasis on radiation safety
Maintenance & Safety Checks
- Performs visual maintenance and quality controls checks, records and reports results to appropriate personnel, identifies problems and communicates them to immediate supervisor, takes appropriate corrective action when necessary, and offers solutions as appropriate
Maintenance of Supplies
- Responsible for ensuring an adequate inventory of supplies, linens, and accessories
Exam Scheduling
- Coordinates and schedules examinations
Minimum Requirements:
- WA Rad tech license
- ARRT(M)
- BLS
- Prefers 1 year of experience and EMR exp
Schedule:
8H Day Shifts – Mon-Fri, 8a-4:30p
- Must be open to Saturdays as needed – if HCP work a Saturday shift, their schedule will be tues-sat. They limit this as much as possible, but must be open to occasional saturdays
- Closed on all major holidays – on holiday weeks they will do their best to flex hours for HCPs to get in their full 40
- HCPs must be open to 2-3 mobile van shifts per week. They will meet at the mobile van site and work their all day, their only duties will be screenings on these days. Parking is free at mobile van sights and they do their best to line up location semi-close to HCPs house so that their commute is not increased. All sites are in general Seattle area.
***They accept local candidates at 82/hr.
