  • Location: Melrose Park, Maywood, Broadview, IL area
  • Open Positions: 5
  • Caseload: 3rd–5th Grade (Self-Contained or Resource Classroom)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs? We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a collaborative and student-centered team committed to educational excellence.

In this role, you will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to provide high-quality services to students. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing individualized programs that include specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction tailored to individual student needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments
  • Participate in IEP development and implementation
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations 
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • Illinois State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following areas (preferred):
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
  • Learning Behavior Specialist/LBS1 Endorsement (required)
  • Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
