- Location: Melrose Park, Maywood, Broadview, IL area
- Open Positions: 5
- Caseload: 3rd–5th Grade (Self-Contained or Resource Classroom)
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs? We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join a collaborative and student-centered team committed to educational excellence.
In this role, you will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to provide high-quality services to students. You’ll play a key role in developing and implementing individualized programs that include specialized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Participate in IEP development and implementation
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Illinois State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following areas (preferred):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist/LBS1 Endorsement (required)
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
