Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: South Chicago Heights, IL
Modality: In-Person Only (SLP with PEL required)
Grade Levels: Primary
Start Date: As soon as candidate is cleared
Caseload: Adheres to ISBE guidance; no more than 60 students
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide school-based services to primary grade students. The SLP will be responsible for conducting evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, and delivering therapy services in accordance with physician orders and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct therapy services aligned with student IEPs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of assignment.
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; may be required based on state or contract.
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with primary grade students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
