Special Education Teacher
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs from kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a collaborative mindset and a commitment to individualized instruction, tutorial support, and consultation with general education staff to ensure student success.
We welcome General Education Teachers who are comfortable working with a special education population. Parent notification will be required, and placement will be determined collaboratively during virtual interviews.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate (required)
- Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- Certifications (preferred but not required):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement
- Compliance with professional standards and all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
