Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring a full-time Special Education Teacher to serve as a Learning Specialist with North Wasco County School District in The Dalles, Oregon. This position begins October 27, 2025, and runs for 39 weeks through the 2025–2026 school year.

Position Overview:

• Location: The Dalles, OR

• Start Date: October 27, 2025

• Contract Length: 9 months (2025–2026 school year)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week

• Pay Rate: $55–$58/hr (based on experience)

• Modality: In-person

• Position Type: Elementary School

• Openings: 1

Position Details:

• Caseload of approximately 15 high-needs students, including non-verbal students with autism

• Goal: Transition students toward increased time in general education

• Support team includes a co-teacher, speech assistant (3 days/week), and multiple educational assistants

• Facilitator model: Learning Specialist provides related services and contributes to present levels and goals, but does not manage cases

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Oregon teaching certificate (Special Education preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• At least one year of experience as a SPED Teacher

• Experience working with students with autism

• LBS1 endorsement (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
