Certified School Registered Nurse
Location: Montebello, California
Pay rate: $60-65/hour (Negotiable depending on experience)
We are currently seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join our team and support student health and wellness in a school setting. This role is ideal for a licensed Registered Nurse who holds a valid School Nurse Certification or Credential and is passionate about promoting student success through health education, assessment, and care coordination.
Position Summary
The Certified School Nurse (CSN) plays a vital role in identifying and addressing health conditions among students, providing health education, and supporting disease prevention efforts. The CSN assesses students’ physical and emotional well-being, collaborates with school staff and families, and ensures students have access to appropriate health resources to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor student health needs within the school environment.
- Provide direct care and first aid for illness or injury.
- Develop and implement individualized health plans in collaboration with educational teams.
- Educate students and staff on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Refer students to appropriate healthcare providers or community resources.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and district regulations.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to support student success.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- School Nurse Certification or Credential (required for consideration).
- Minimum of one year of school nursing experience.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Completion of TB screening (PPD or chest x-ray, as applicable).
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and student confidentiality standards.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
