Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2025–26 school year. This role supports young learners (typically ages 3–5) with diverse learning needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the teacher will provide individualized instruction and collaborate with families and staff to promote each child’s growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with families and team members.
- Provide developmentally appropriate instruction tailored to students with a range of cognitive, emotional, and physical disabilities.
- Design engaging, play-based learning experiences that align with early childhood curriculum standards.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure inclusive practices.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
- Guide and mentor paraprofessionals and teaching assistants.
- Communicate regularly with families to foster strong school-home partnerships.
- Support students in transitions to kindergarten and other educational settings.
- Maintain compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Missouri DESE certification
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with special needs preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
