Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and provide high-quality services to students in grades K–12, with a primary focus on co-teaching in a 5th-grade general education classroom. This role supports students with disabilities including OHI, AUT, SLD, and ED, all of whom are working on the general curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-teach in a 5th-grade general education classroom
- Manage a caseload of 13 students (11 in 5th grade, 2 in 3rd grade)
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the team
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to student needs
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Participate in team meetings and professional development
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
- State Teacher Certification in one or more of the following (preferred):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- General education classroom
- Disabilities served: OHI, AUT, SLD, ED
- Curriculum: General education curriculum
