Job Description:
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality services to students in grades K–12. This role involves planning and implementing individualized student programs, delivering specialized instruction, offering tutorial assistance, and collaborating with general education staff to support inclusive learning environments.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students’ IEPs.
- Participate in IEP development and implementation.
- Provide consultation and support to general education staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations.
- One year of teaching experience (preferred).
- Preferred certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
