Contract Length: 10 weeks (through Winter Break)
Hours: 35 hours/week
Grade Level: 9th–12th
Setting: Mild/Moderate Special Education Classrooms
Position Overview:
SMJUHSD is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support high school students in a mild/moderate special education setting. This is a short-term, in-person opportunity ideal for an SLPA looking to make an immediate impact in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Assist in implementing therapy plans and activities
- Support students in achieving communication goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Collaborate with school staff and special education teams
Requirements:
- Active California SLPA License
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working with high school students in special education settings
Compensation:
- Local Pay Rate: $52/hour
- Travel Weekly Pay: $2,200
