The Unlicensed Social Worker/Counselor/Mental Health Clinician provides counseling to patient’s in a variety of settings including medical facilities, hospitals, clinics, learning centers and other organizations that are in need of assistance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirements
- The Counselor may possess an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing or other Human Development Major
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is actively recruiting Associate Social Workers (ASWs) and Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) for a 10-week assignment in Oakland, CA. This position supports Substance Use Treatment Services (SUTS) and Justice-Involved Mental Health (JIMH) programs.
Compensation:
- Travel Pay: $2,659/week
- Includes $1,000 taxable income + $1,959 stipends
- Local Pay Option: $58/hr
Responsibilities:
- Deliver substance use and mental health treatment services including assessment, treatment planning, discharge planning, case management, referrals, and supportive services.
- Provide SUD treatment expertise to a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage with justice-involved populations and participate in court-related settings.
Qualifications:

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of direct service in behavioral health with co-occurring conditions.
- Minimum 3 years in a drug/alcohol treatment setting addressing mental health (dual/triple diagnosis).
- Experience working with justice-involved populations and comfort in court environments.

Credentials:
- Active ASW or AMFT registration with the California BBS.
- Current CADC I, II, or III certification (approved by DHCS and NCCA).
