Position Details

  • Location: Fall River, MA
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday (varies by school)
  • Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year
  • Pay Rate: Up to $65/hour, based on experience
  • Requirements: MA DESE License 

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide direct instruction in academic and behavioral areas
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Valid MA teaching license in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with autism, behavioral challenges, or learning disabilities
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with support staff
  • Flexible, patient, and committed to student growth

Open Teaching Roles in Fall River:

Middle School – Social Emotional Focus

Support students with social-emotional challenges by:

  • Teaching emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Collaborating with counselors and support staff
  • Creating a safe and structured learning environment

Elementary – ABA Focus:

Teach and support students using ABA principles:

  • Collaborate with BCBAs and implement behavior plans
  • Use data-driven instruction and behavior tracking
  • Foster academic and social development

Middle School – Autism & Special Education Focus:

Support students with autism and other special needs:

  • Deliver differentiated instruction aligned with IEPs
  • Promote inclusive practices and classroom engagement
  • Address academic and behavioral goals

Middle School – 1:1 with Individuals with Autism:

Provide individualized instruction and support:

  • Implement personalized academic and behavioral plans
  • Foster independence and skill-building
  • Support student participation in classroom and social activities

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred 
  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations 
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred 
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
