PACU RN | November Start – Palo Alto
Start Date: November 2025 | 13-Week Contract
We’re seeking an experienced PACU RN for a travel assignment at a leading Academic Level I Trauma Center in Palo Alto, California. This is a high-acuity role in a 24/7 PACU/PreOp unit, offering exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties.
Position Highlights
- Location: Palo Alto, CA
- Setting: Hospital – PACU/PreOp (Level I Trauma Center)
- Start Window: November 2025
- Contract Length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
- Schedule: 3x12s (36 hours/week)
- Shift: Rotating
Required Qualifications
- Must be a traveler (permanent address 50+ miles from the facility)
- CA RN License
- 5+ years of PACU RN experience
- 3+ years accepted at a lower rate
- Strong ICU background
- Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience:
- EPIC EMR proficiency
- Previous travel RN experience
Additional Compliance Requirements
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
- Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and clients; proficiency in English required
- Computer proficiency required
Floating Requirements
- Peri-anesthesia floating only; no floating to inpatient units, ED, etc.
What You’ll Do:
Provide expert preoperative and post-anesthesia care for patients across all surgical specialties, including Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, EP, GI, and Interventional Pulmonology, in a high-acuity trauma setting.
