The post-anesthesia care Unit (PACU) nurse cares forpatients who have under gone anesthesia. The post-anesthesia care Unit (PACU) nurse is responsible for observingand treating a patient postoperation and making sure that they safely awakefrom anesthesia. The PACU nurse mustmonitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to make sure that the sedationis wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactions occurring and patientsare regaining consciousness.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
- ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements.
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Experience working in Phase 1 PACU required.
2+ years recent PACU experience experience required
not surgicenter experience – they do not see the level of complexity of patients that we see in a level I trauma center. Candidates must possess the ability to think critically and to work independently.
• PALS, BLS & ACLS – Required
CPAN, TNCC, CCRN – highly desirable
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district – Required
• PACU/Preop Experience – Required: 2 Years
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required
