AmergisEducational Staffing is partnered with a school district in New Bedford, MA thatis currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse(RN) to support students on a contractual basis.
Detailsof the Position Include:
- Pay Rate: (based on experience)
- $42/hour for LPN
- $50/hour for RN
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: 2025–2026 School Year
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 6:00/6:30 PM
- May extend past 6:30 PM depending on seasonal program needs
- Shifts are always guaranteed
- Requirements: Active RN or LPN license; ability to float across district schools
- Description:
The nurse will float across the school system, covering one school per day in the event of a nurse absence or unavailability. Responsibilities include being on standby for afterschool programs. Prior to starting, the nurse will receive a tour of each school in the district to become familiar with the buildings.

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
- One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
