Literacy Interventionist (K–2)

Job Title: Reading Specialist – Grades K–2
Location: Essex – Suffolk County 
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2025–2026 School Year
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay Rate: Up to $60/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Overview:
Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Essex – Suffolk County, MA to hire a Reading Specialist to work with students on a contractual basis. This full-time role focuses on supporting early elementary learners in developing foundational literacy skills through targeted instruction and collaboration with school staff and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use formal and informal assessments to identify students’ reading strengths and areas for growth
• Interpret assessment data to guide individualized instruction
• Implement district-adopted reading strategies and programs
• Support classroom teachers with strategy carryover and instructional planning
• Participate in parent conferences and serve as a resource to families
• Collaborate with the Student Support Team (SST) as needed
• Present reading data and instructional insights at grade-level meetings and Common Planning Time (CPT)
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in education or related field
• Valid Massachusetts Reading Specialist licensure
• Familiarity with district benchmark testing, progress monitoring, and data interpretation
• Certification in Wilson and/or Orton-Gillingham is highly advantageous
