Position Summary:
The Special EducationTeacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administratorprovides quality services to special education students, kindergarten throughgrade 12. The Special Education Teacherhas a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation ofstudent programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance andconsultation with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborates with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive practices and student success across all learning environments.
- Utilizes differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions to support diverse learning styles and promote student growth.
- Conducts regular assessments and progress monitoring to evaluate student performance and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintains accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to special education services.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
