The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Essential Job Details: |
1x FLC (Focused Learning Center) position. Mental health approach specific – caseload of 2 students in 3rd grade. Highly aggressive (verbally and physically), self-harm, elopement |
Technical Skills Needed/Minimum Experience/Qualifications |
Oregon SPED License or ability to obtain Experience with behavioral classrooms |

Position Details (Age group, Caseload, Duties): |
Caseload of 2 students (3rd graders) with max of a 10 student caseload. 2 RBTs, a teacher, and a mental health specialist on site. provide the education that our students need but also support the therapeutic needs from trauma- exposure, abuse, neglect, and disability that limit a student’s ability to be successful in a traditional school setting. |
