Position: Special Education Teaching Associate
Location: Bristol County, MA
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 32.5–35 hours/week
School Year: 2025–2026
Compensation: Up to $35/hour

Amergis Educational Staffing is teaming up with schools across Bristol County to offer a unique pathway for individuals with a bachelor’s degree and classroom experience to step into a teaching role under a waiver—an ideal opportunity for those working toward licensure in special education.

What You’ll Do:

As a Special Education Teaching Associate, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with individualized learning plans. You’ll lead instruction, implement behavior strategies, and collaborate with educators to foster inclusive and engaging classroom environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing instruction in one-on-one, small group, and whole-class settings
  • Developing and executing IEP goals
  • Leading and mentoring paraprofessionals
  • Tracking and documenting student progress and behavior
  • Supporting daily classroom routines and transitions
  • Partnering with teachers and specialists to meet student needs

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in working with students facing emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges
  • Proficient in behavior management and de-escalation techniques
  • Comfortable writing IEP goals and monitoring progress
  • Calm, adaptable, and collaborative
  • Dedicated to inclusive education and student success

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement)
  • CPR certification, TB test, and health clearance (as applicable)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
