Launch Your Teaching Journey in Special Education
Position Title: Special Education Teaching Associate
Location: Bristol County, MA
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 32.5–35 hours/week
School Year: 2025–2026
Pay: Up to $35/hour
Are you ready to take the next step toward becoming a licensed special education teacher? Amergis Educational Staffing is partnering with schools across Bristol County to offer a unique opportunity for individuals with a bachelor’s degree and classroom experience to serve in a teaching capacity under a waiver.
Your Role in the Classroom:
As a Special Education Teaching Associate, you’ll work closely with students who require individualized support. You’ll lead instruction, manage behavior plans, and collaborate with school teams to create inclusive, engaging learning environments. This role is ideal for those who are passionate about special education and ready to grow into a licensed teaching position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in 1:1, small group, and whole-class settings
- Develop and implement IEP goals
- Lead and mentor paraprofessionals
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior
- Support classroom routines and transitions
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to meet student needs
Who You Are:
- Experienced in supporting students with emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges
- Skilled in behavior management and de-escalation techniques
- Comfortable writing IEP goals and tracking progress
- Calm, flexible, and team-oriented
- Committed to student growth and inclusive education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
- CPR certification, TB test, and health clearance (as applicable)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
