Position Overview
- Location: Butner, NC
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension)
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 40 hours/week
- Compensation: Competitive weekly pay – Local & Travel Rates Available

Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care
- Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor and document health status and respond to medical emergencies
- Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management
Health Education & Counseling
- Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care
- Offer counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices
Medical Coordination
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Write medical discharge summaries and maintain accurate medical records
Emergency Response
- Deliver emergency medical services when needed
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to infection control standards and facility safety protocols
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and juvenile justice policies
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred)
- Licensure: Active NC RN license or multistate compact license
- Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation techniques
- Commitment: Reliability and dedication to fulfilling the full contract term
