Special Education Teacher – Middle School (Maternity Coverage)

?? Schedule: Monday–Friday, School Hours (37.5–40 hours/week)

Position Summary:

Amergis Staffing is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support a middle school classroom with moderate disabilities. This is a maternity coverage position in a self-contained setting with a caseload of 6 non-verbal students, supported by 2 teaching assistants. The teacher will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and collaborate with general education staff to implement individualized student programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with moderate disabilities
• Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel
• Participate in planning and implementation of IEPs
• Provide tutorial assistance and consultation as needed
• Maintain compliance with all professional standards and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (required)
  • Out-of-state certifications must be eligible for reciprocity and proof of filing must be provided upon offer
• Minimum of 1 year teaching experience (preferred)
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
