Start Date: Two weeks from offer
Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year
Pay Rate: Up to $58/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Title: Special Education Teacher (Severe)
Location: Bridgewater, MA
We are seeking a licensed Special Education Teacher (Severe level) to lead a sub-separate classroom for students in grades 6–8. The classroom serves approximately 8–10 students and is supported by a dedicated team of 2 Educational Support Professionals (ESPs) and 2 Behavior Technicians.
This role is ideal for educators with experience supporting students with significant academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Candidates should be comfortable implementing individualized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining a structured, supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Valid MA DESE Severe Disabilities teaching license
- Experience working with students with intensive needs
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Team-oriented mindset

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
