Location: Naperville, IL
Modality: In-person
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
Student Hours: 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
Hours per Week: 35
Assignment Duration: 2025–2026 School Year
Pay Rate: $55/hr

About the Role

We are hiring two Special Education Teachers (LBS1) to support high school students in a self-contained classroom setting. Teachers will deliver instruction across multiple subjects to students who have average intelligence but are significantly below grade level due to mental health challenges and/or past trauma. Each student participates in at least 30 therapy groups throughout the school year.

This is a meaningful opportunity for educators who are passionate about trauma-informed teaching and committed to fostering a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach multiple subjects in a self-contained classroom
  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the team
  • Provide academic and emotional support tailored to student needs
  • Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid Illinois teaching certificate (required)
  • LBS1 Endorsement (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)
  • CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate (if applicable)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must meet all professional standards and regulatory requirements
