Position Overview
We are seeking adedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team indelivering high-quality educational services to students with special needsfrom kindergarten through grade 12. This role requires a collaborative spiritand a commitment to individualized instruction, tutorial support, andconsultation with general education staff to ensure inclusive and effectivelearning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning challenges
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all reporting requirements
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract, or district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment (preferred)
- State Teacher Certification (preferred types):
- Standard Elementary Teaching
- Standard Secondary Teaching
- Standard Special Teaching
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) (preferred)
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
- Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
