Special Education Teacher | Autism Support | $40/hr | Full-Time | 8-Month Contract | Phoenix, AZ

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support an autism classroom for grades 5–12 in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time, in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, offering a competitive rate of $40/hour.

Position Overview:

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 21, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 40/week (exact hours TBD by campus)
Modality: In-person
Interview: Virtual

Classroom Details:

Autism support classroom for grades 5–12
Caseload: 12 students or fewer
Classroom support: Typically 2–3 paraprofessionals
Strong candidates must be comfortable working with behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with autism
Collaborate with general education staff and participate in IEP development
Provide tutorial assistance and consultation
Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
Valid Arizona teaching certificate (ADE SPED License required; Alt Cert not accepted)
Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)
CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
