Special Education Teacher | Autism Support | $40/hr | Full-Time | 8-Month Contract | Phoenix, AZ

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support an autism classroom for grades 5–12 in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time, in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, offering a competitive rate of $40/hour.

Position Overview:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: May 21, 2026

• Schedule: Monday–Friday

• Hours: 40/week (exact hours TBD by campus)

• Modality: In-person

• Interview: Virtual

Classroom Details:

• Autism support classroom for grades 5–12

• Caseload: 12 students or fewer

• Classroom support: Typically 2–3 paraprofessionals

• Strong candidates must be comfortable working with behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with autism

• Collaborate with general education staff and participate in IEP development

• Provide tutorial assistance and consultation

• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate (ADE SPED License required; Alt Cert not accepted)

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

• CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
