Our Amergis Educational Staffing Team is looking to hire ESE Teachers for schools in Polk and surrounding areas for the 2025-26 School Year!

Location: Polk and surrounding areas

Pay Rate: $45

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full Time only

Hours/Week: 37.5 hours/week

Grade Levels: K–12

No Weekends, No Holidays

The Special Education Teacher works under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator to provide quality services to students with exceptional needs, kindergarten through grade 12. This role includes special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with school teams
  • Provide academic and behavioral instruction tailored to student needs
  • Utilize behavior management techniques and crisis intervention strategies
  • Support students in developing independent living and social skills
  • Collaborate with therapists (SLP, OT, PT) and other support staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data collection
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate or Statement of Eligibility (SOE) for ESE
  • Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment preferred
  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Understand student confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job
